Whoa I did it!
October 31, 2007Hey, I did it! I changed the name of the blog. Now at last, it is changed from the old lame name to a brand new lame name!
I’m open to suggestions for a proper name for this blog.

I really want to change the name of my blog from this stupid name to something better. What was I thinking?
I thought I was just trying it out, you know, and then delete it and do the real thing. But it’s such a hassle. And I got to figure out how to delete the database and create a new one.
I finally upgraded WordPress to the latest version. I was holding off the latest upgrade due to lack of time. For the most part it upgraded smoothly. Frequent upgrades are a drag.
This upgrade however seems to have introduced something called tags. I am going to tag this post. Funny, this particular paragraph does not seem to be wrapping correctly.
I’m about to learn how to backup the Wordpress blog. Yup, I had no backup before – but mainly because there’s really not much worth to backup.
I wonder if I should have gone with using Drupal for my blog software. Not that I mind WordPress, mind you. It’s just idle curiosity.
I have seen a few Drupal blogs, and they all seem very neat – no archive page or categories – just recent posts. I wonder if it’s possible to disable the archive page. I read this review of a free blogging software called Thingamablog and one of the things the author cites as a negative is the main page, archive page and category page having the same duplicate text.
In my usual aimless meandering around the web, I came across an article on making money through a website, and I decided, yeah, why not. I’ve yet to apply for any affiliate program like that article suggests, since I’ve yet to have any traffic. And I guess I don’t have any traffic because I don’t have any posts that brings in people. Sigh.
Anyway, I found this web host (free), downloaded WordPress at the suggestion of one of my friends, installed it with his help, and here I am.
I don’t seem to be getting much traffic. *sob* Probably because I don’t seem to write anything either. What’s the point of a blog if you don’t know what to say?
The trouble with the default template is that it is not immediately obvious that the titles are clickable. As a result, I spent some time looking for a way to put a link that says “Permalink” or “Read full article” or something. I wonder whether there’s an easy way to add such a link into the default template.
