Radiohead Made More from their Digital Download than all their Albums
January 2, 2008Radiohead apparently made more from their digital download experiment, where they distributed their songs themselves on their site, than “all the other Radiohead albums put together, forever”. If you remember, they put the songs up on their site, and visitors could pay any amount they wished.
Why do these artists still keep going back to the recording companies? I mean, the same article that mentioned this also talked about how Radiohead was being screwed by the recording companies – they don’t pay the artists very much for digital downloads, if at all.
This is the 2008. You can set up a website and distribute your music at very little cost. Why go to recording companies and the like. Get on with the times.
