Just for Kicks

I recently watched the Sherlock Holmes movie and enjoyed it tremendously. It has everything a modern detective/mystery story should have: the mystery part and the fast action. Yeah, I’m a sucker for fast action, though not mindless fast action. It’s not a regular old-fashion whodunnit though. Although there is a mystery, it’s not like the shows of old where you try to guess along with the detective until the denouement. But all is revealed at the end. Other than saying that, I’m not going to give any more details so as not to spoil the show for those who haven’t watched it.

I think that the release date for Sherlock Holmes was poor though. It shouldn’t have been released at the same time as Avatar. As it is, everybody is talking about Avatar and not enough notice is being given to Holmes, even though, IMHO, Sherlock Holmes is actually the more interesting movie. It actually has a novel plot and is not tedious at all; Avatar’s plot is kinda predictable although it is saved by its breathtaking CGI.
