As everyone knows, Opera is known for its web browser innovation, having introduced things like tab browsing, mouse gestures, Speed Dialup, integrated feed reader, and so on. Most of these have now been copied by other browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome.
Opera’s April Fools’ day joke introduces yet another innovation: Face Gestures. You really need to view their video of how face gestures work: it’s hilarious. I’ve embedded it below, since it’s from YouTube.
I’m embedding this short Mathemagician show that I enjoyed watching over the weekend. It’s from TED, which is an annual event that “forces” its speakers to wow its audience with some topic on technology, education and design (hence TED) within 18 minutes (or less). This video is about maths, but performed in an entertaining, magical way.
It has this interesting revenue sharing scheme, where if you allow them to place advertisements on your video, fifty percent of the revenue goes to you. You can also tag certain parts of your video, and users can also leave comments on your video!
Of all the video sites, I think I like Stage 6 best. It has the best resolution that doesn’t pixelate when you maximize the video to fill the screen. I had to install the DivX player before it worked, but that’s no biggie, since it’s free anyway.
I saw this Neil Gaiman Video on Youtube. Very interesting talk that gives you an insight into how things work when authors sell their books to Hollywood. Of course the talk is not just about that.
